I know I am a few days late in writing my own review of this year's Kouhaku but it was only last night that I have watched the whole show (my internet speed is soooo slow maybe because of the Taiwan's earthquake)

This year's Kouhaku theme was love for family and home. The photo mosaic heart logo somewhat amaze me.

Then after some introductions, the two host for Kouhaku Utagassen, came in: Nakama Yukie and Masahiro Nakai appeared in their formal wears:

(from this point onwards I will put only the some comments on the performances that I have really seen LOL because of heavily Enka performances I fell asleep for a couple of times >____> and due to this, my Kouhaku review is not that detailed LOL)

Then the performers of this year's Kouhaku appeared and then a brief interactions until mihimaru GT performed Kibun Joujo (although I had seen this song performed a lot of times, their Kouhaku performance is the best ^^) Also I like Hiroko's costume for their performance (soooo stary)

Also I liked what they had pulled on the end of the performance ^^;;

After mihimaru GT's performance, the next performer is w-inds. xD xD In fairness to them, this is one of the performance that Keita didn't go offbeat (but I like their JRA perf more than Kouhaku LOL) The three guys looked sooooo good.. :D :D

BoA's performance was after w-inds. BoogieWoogie 66. During the talk part, it was shown that BoA and Aya Matsuura are really good friends (Weh but I don't like Aya Matsuura). BoA's performance in Kouhaku is a so-so performance because her voice was very hoarse and she can't dance well because she might slip with her heels (LOL) But nonetheless, Nakai commented that BoA is very cute (and the white team will not lose LOL)

After BoA's performance, here comes the flood of Enka performances (snooze LOL) ~______~  Some noteable performances are: SEAMO's Mata aimasho (kouhaku mix) and Aqua Timez's Ketsui no asa ni (But the H!P girls' costumes managed to attract my attention)

The 2nd part of the first half of Kouhaku began with a group song of a children's song medley with GAM, H!P Girls and some artists that I dunno LOL (I was very disappointed with this year's group song to think that was my anticipated even in Kouhaku)

I like Suga Shikao's Progress performance, Bonnie Pink's A perfect sky, Gospellers' Furusato.

Woah ayaka's Mikazuki perf amazed me (I have watched lots of Mikazuki performances but her Kouhaku performance is one of her best performances) She seemed so nervous that even after her performance she was panting a bit... Then WaT's 5 senchi (I liked it better that they have just performed Bokura no Love Story but with Teppei playing harmonica compensates with that). I kinda skipped Ayumi's perf (err I just can't stand her voice) but her costume is cute xD xD and Mika Nakashima's Hitoiro (in her attempt to look like a rock star LOL) TOKIO's Sorafune perfomance is one performance that catched my attention (Tomoya Nagase had pull off a nice vocal) but hmm... I like Tomoya's look in My Boss, My Hero days rather than his rugged look now.

The 2nd half of Kouhaku began with another children song medley (with Akiko Wada, Angela Aki, Hiroko of mihimaru GT, H!P girls, WaT and some children) LOL Angela Aki and Hiroko seemed very close in that perf. This portion is what they call the 2006 Review ~____~ I was expecting for more. Also SMAP had sang a bit of Dear Woman here (Welcome to Japan!!!)

Here comes the spice of Kouhaku Utagassen, the DJ OZMA's "scandal" Age Age Every Knight perf. Actually the back up dancers were not naked, they were wearing body suits but due to illusioning effects, it appeared that they were nude (With some people calling to air their comments and the host explaining that they were wearing body suits) I just can't forget Nakama Yukie's shock O____O and priceless expression and how she managed to introduce the next performer LOOOOL

Angela Aki appeared on Kouhaku wearing a simple red shirt (with her name on it) with her megane look. ^^;; But her performance is soooooooooo good (I really like her vocals)

Enka song performances again =____=  And here comes Koda Kumi's Yume no uta. I think it should not only be DJ OZMA that should be reprimanded with "almost nude/ nudity" pics but also Koda Kumi's outfit! ~____~ Since her ballad compensates that costume, people didn't notice LOL >____>

SMAP's Arigato performance is good :D :D (I really like the meaning of the song and the last line, "Aisuru no hito e arigatou")

After some performances, an enka song closes of this year's Kouhaku Utagassen >_____________<

Then the announcement of winning team was done by the audience votes, special Kouhaku board, and the "ball-thingy" voting system. And this year's Kouhaku Utagassen winner is the: SHIROGUMI :D :D

Costume Picspam:

*** I just can't remember from which Sentai series these were inspired LOL >___<***

*SEAMO killed an animal for his outfit LOL*

***When you say glitter theme, the shoes should be included also in the theme***

**Not all that glitters is a true gold (just a gold outfit) Shining Shimmering Splendid!!!!!!**

***Some fur-ry costumes LOL (But I liked the mascot)***

***Do this when you are bored with your hair***

***Hail to the King of the Insect World!!!***

**Ayumi Hamasaki's costume***

***If you have scrap fabrics, you can still make a beautiful gown***

***Koda Kumi's Glittery Body Suit***

**The body suits that rocked Kouhaku Utagassen

That ends my senseless review post about this year's Kouhaku Utagassen (I liked last year's Kouhaku than this one) ~___~

Weh! My wisdom tooth is aching >_____>

And I got some crappy internet connection ~____~ and finally I will be able to finish Tsubasa Chronicles Season 2
