Before I start my post about Kouhaku Utagassen, I want to share one crack post about JE. LOL XD I just finished reading this one and it is really very funny!

Boys Perspective about JE

This year's Kouhaku is sooo boring minus some performances but the overall show was really draggy. I even promised that I won't skipped all Jpop performances but in the end I can't help skipping it. I just thought that I should have watched the CB versions though.

This year's opening was like nothing compared in the last years as I think they don't have a theme or whatever. 2007 is one of the years wherein the hosts for both teams are both males. Tsurube talked so much more than necessary though and well luckily Nakai guided him to do his job xD

Aoi Miyazaki and Aragaki Yui were two of the guest judges in this year's Kouhaku Utagassen. Aww they are both so pretty in their kimonos

I just don't like her hair in this one though

I tried watching H!P performances and haha I still can't bring myself to like them. But I watched their last year's Kouhaku perf and this year was a flop for them.

Not going into detail though...

w-inds. Beautiful Life was okay as Keita didn't go off that too high. The dance was so cute. I felt that the kid dancers that were with them were EXILE's EXPG dancers haha. I love w-inds. suits in this year except Keita's hat.

After some performances I skipped, here comes EXILE. My first reaction when I saw Atsushi: "WTH, what's with the marshmallows look?" And when Takahiro started singing, bleah!! I don't like his hair. >< When watching EXILE's ballad song perfs remember not to look at the dancers as you might be pissed off like "wth they are doing, dancing with ballads?" But anyway aside from those things, the string version performance was good.

How starry nights, strings and marshmallows will complement with each other

mihimaru GT's Gazen Yeah was as good as it can be. I like hiroko's costume this year. They did it again with the banner after they finish performing

Since WaT didn't really released anything for 2007, their Kouhaku songs were just a medley of their solo works plus their old songs. It's so cute that they were singing each other songs. And they still keep on learning their lessons not to stand too close with each other.

Angela Aki's Sakurairo was one of the best performances in Kouhaku. Last year, she was wearing a shirt with number 29 and now she's wearing a red one with number 30 rofl. I can't help to smile seeing the confetti landed on her lips.

If Angela Aki will be invited next year, she will be wearing a number 31 shirt!

Then the idol medley came next. AKB48 don't need any backup dancers as they filled up the stage. Leah Dizon's perf was the worst performance in Kouhaku. This girl can not sing! I hope she will realize that and go back to being an idol/graveure model.

See, this is what I mean of pretty face and body is not equal to talent

As an info for everyone, ayaka's performance was the highest rated perf for the first half of Kouhaku. And don't wonder why as this girl is really a gem in live performances. I really love how she pimped Peace Loving People where in fact it is only a b-side. Anyway, no worries as I love her performance as always (Someone asked me: Did she ever had a flop live perf?; Me: I think the word flop in live perf doesn't exist in her dictionary though)

Then after she sang, Kobukuro joined her to sing Winding Road. This one was a special performance. And they did it, my rankings for Winding Road performances change as this one is my 2nd favorite one. (Hmm.. I did remember one asked me why the AP Bank Festival was my favorite perf, my answer was for 2 reasons: It was really good that I don't mind watching over and over again and in fact I replaced the original version with that rip, the other reason was Sakurai was also on the same stage with them... ayaka x Kobukuro x Sakurai = great love)

Perfect combination

BoA's winter ballad special performance was not that bad either but I still have the hangover of her Love Letter in Japan Record Awards that's why I can't appreciate this perf that much. It would be so much better if she performed Lose Your Mind in Kouhaku

I think that this hairstyle don't suit with BoA that much. But I like her natural make-up look

Ai's Chu-Lip perf was soooooo cute. I can't really resist her cuteness (Haha you know me, I'm a big s*cker for anything cute) But the a-nation perf was the best as she had this "tutorial" before the performance.

Good thing that this was just a wig!

The most awaited introduction of everyone, Nakai for Koda Kumi! But sorry guys, he just presented her like any other performances and haha I love how he dodges the press and then denies everything. Well Ai no uta was just okay and if nails can kill, Kumi's nails could kill you!

The only thing I don't like is that her head dress made her look like a peacock

 

Some other performances highlights

• Gackt's stint was attention catcher. I don't listen to his songs that much but his performance captivated me to watch it. I just realized that he looks like a doll though (ala Michael Jackson)
• Dreams Come True performance was again one of the best performance. I just felt sad for Miwa though. But I admire how she pulled out the performance. I think I will check their stuffs though (although at first I was hesitant and I dunno why. Listening to her song with Full of Harmony makes me want to check out DCT's stuffs)
• I think this year's Kouhaku was the very emotional one. Hitoto Yo's perf was one of those emotional perfs.
• I can't help but to laugh at SMAP's Dangan Fighter perf

The ending performance was the Sekai ni Hitotsu Dake no Hana of SMAP with everyone in Kouhaku (except Kumi and EXILE because they were on their way to TBS Studio as they were the opening acts for CDTV SP) I am still for the 2005 version of this song but anyway it is good to see that all participants were all friends to each other (especially those from the white team). I just realized that Makihara Noriyuki was the composer of this song. Some cute moments with this perf were ayaka, aiko and hiroko's peace picture during the performance and Ryuichi's throwing of confetti while singing. XD

Then the winning was announced. For the the third year, White Team brought home the Kouhaku crown. The last song before the show ended was Hotaru no Hikari (Auld Lang Syne)

I'm pleading for those who have the 2005 Kouhaku file. Onegai! Please upload for me the Sekai ni Hitotsu Dake no Hana performance. T___T I have been searching for it for over 2 years actually. As for bribes, check out my uploads page or just tell me anything you want that I can help in searching too... Thank you!!!

Bleah I'm so pissed off that my WOWOW connection was already cut by our cable company xD Tonight is ayaka's Premium Live in that channel. Oh well, I'm sure hikkichan will upload it. (haha I'm eternally grateful to hikkichan)

deshou??? I was laughing at them too. Takahiro just didn't fix his hair right for the Kouhaku one. It would have been better if he just let his normal hairstyle in that perf.
