My first Icon tutorial
Dec. 10th, 2008 03:52 pmIt's my first time to make a tutorial so please be nice ^___^;;
From this
to this
Program Used: Adobe Photoshop CS 3
I don't know if this is translatable ^^;; I don't use PSP XD
1. Prepare your base
- So I got a screenshot from one of Mr.Children's PVs, Esora. I duplicated the base twice, one screen layer and one soft light layer. Well it will depend to you how you prepare your base. (Play with the opacities)
2. New adjustment layer ->> Channel Mixer
Red - R: 103 / G: -10 / B: -20
3. New adjustment layer >> Hue Saturation
Saturation: +20
4. New Fill Layer >> 03082a >> Exclusion > 34%
5. New adjustment layer >>> Color Balance
Midtones: -16 // +12 // - 17
Shadows: -11 / +10 // - 19
6. Duplicate base >>> Soft light
7. Optional: you can add textures or brushes. For this icon, I added a texture from
xloliconsx
Done!
*Note: this may not work on all images so try to play the values especially on Channel Mixer and Color Balance ^^;;
Other samples with the same coloring: (I think this will greatly work on a reddish/pinkish image)

*For the textures / brushes, I don't claim them, it is just my resources list was deleted so if I used your textures/brushes, please inform me so I can credit you properly (thank you!)
